End of March 2020 Qualtrics introduced the “Remote Work Pulse” to support organizations in finding their way of dealing with an unprecedented situation. In dozens of countries all over the world employees are urged to work from home, unless they can continue their work while maintaining a safe distance from one another. All our efforts have one aim, to slow down the COVID-19 pandemic and flatten the curve. Qualtrics is now making its Qualtrics Remote Work Pulse publicly available for free for all organizations.

In unusual times like these, it is essential to make sure everybody is safe and healthy. It’s something that seems obvious with friends and family, but also checking in with your professional environment nowadays is more important than ever.

This, of course, is one of the day-to-day responsibilities of line managers, team leaders and co-workers between each other, but HR can contribute and support as well. Show your employees that you listen and care as an organization, even though times are rough and everybody has a lot on their mind.

Next to that, organizations are being challenged to change how they work on all levels. Using an employee survey to easily check in with a large number of employees can also deliver valuable information for both short-term and future actions and decisions.

Getting started with Remote Work Pulse is very easy, it could be set up to send out to your entire workforce within one day. The survey offers two methods to check-in with employees

  • Quick check-in: Pulse employees with a simple mood barometer and open-text feedback to get a quick, holistic view of morale and understand emerging workplace experience gaps.
  • Full remote + on-site evaluation: Pulse employees on up to five key areas most relevant to their current situation — working remotely or on-site — to understand their needs, pinpoint critical gaps, and prioritize where to take action.

Flexso for People and Qualtrics recommend starting with the quick check-in as a simple, lightweight way to understand how employees are feeling in the midst of disruption. Then, follow up at a later time with the full remote + on-site evaluation to identify and prioritize areas of improvement.

Both surveys can however be adapted to meet your company’s information needs and Qualtrics also offers the possibility to translate the questions and provide the surveys in different languages. Once data is being gathered, it’s analyzed and shown in standard graphs and reports, ready to use and drive actions and decisions.
